NCBCE Member Thomas Vaidhyan of Aten, Inc. Participates in Panel Discussion on Digital Learning
On Thursday, March 31st, Lt. Governor Walter Dalton hosted a conversational meeting focused on digital learning. A presentation on the National Perspective on Student Success by Mark Milliron, Deputy Director for Postsecondary Improvement, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation started the discussion. Following that presentation, Tom Vander Ark, Partner at Vander/Ratcliff, discussed the Digital Learning Now Report, Related National Approaches, and Fiscal Implications. Introduced by NC Virtual Public School Director Bryan Setser, this discussion focused on implications for schools with new technologies and learning options. Following these presentations, Mr. Vander Ark and Mr. Setser were joined by NCBCE member Thomas Vaidyan of Aten, Kristin Cuilla of the New Tech Network and facilitator J. B. Buxton for a panel discussion of the implications at the state and local levels. Lt. Governor provided closing remarks on the challenges that were discussed at the meeting.
